A distinction is drawn between taking photographs in the permanent exhibition and in special exhibitions.   

Taking photographs in the permanent exhibition    

In the permanent exhibition (levels 3, 4 and 5) you can take photographs freely, provided you don’t use flash or tripod.

Exception: If the photographs are intended for publication, the photographer /filmer should always contact us in advance by means of the form below. 

By filling in this form the applicant agrees not to touch and/or move any objects and only to take photographs without flash. The applicant confirms his/her awareness that neither the management nor the staff nor the city of Ghent can be held responsible for damage, accident and/or injury of any kind whatsoever.   

The applicant agrees to acknowledge in the publication that the photographs were taken at the MIAT and to provide one copy of the publication in every language for the museum library. It can be sent to MIAT FACTory, Oudevest 18, 9000 Ghent.

Wedding photographs

If you are getting married and looking for an original location for your wedding pictures, look no further! Requests to use the MIAT as a backdrop for wedding photographs should be submitted in advance using the contact form below. Kindly send us one of your photographs afterwards.
