Around the MIAT walk: from factory to workers’ houses

Ghent was a very busy textile city as you can see from the streets around the MIAT.

On this walk you learn all about industrialization in the city’s nineteenth-century belt.

You go in search of the vestiges of textile factories, Ghent’s first electricity generating station, the Minnemeers bleaching field and the workers’ houses.

Suitable for secondary school-age children upwards, including adults.
